I am currently a Staff Instructional Designer at Insulet, learning solutions that support the company's strategic goals. In this role, I collaborate with cross-functional teams to create impactful educational experiences, focusing on both technical and non-technical content. I ensure that training programs are effective, engaging, and aligned with the company's objectives.
Previously, I served as the Senior Manager of Education and Engagement for the American Diabetes Association. In that capacity, I managed the full life cycle of multiple continuing education programs, including contracting subject matter experts (SMEs) and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, and uploading content to the learning management system (LMS).
Before transitioning into instructional design, I worked as an educator for the largest school district in Georgia, Gwinnett County Public Schools, where I served at two different schools. As the ELA department chair at one school, and the lead innovator/technology lead at both, I developed blended eLearning experiences using the LMS (eCLASS) to engage students with lessons, videos, discussions, and interactive materials. My passion for accessible education drove me to pursue an ESOL endorsement and secure Walton EMC grant funding to ensure students had one-to-one access to technology before the pandemic.
In addition to my work with K-12 students, I enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the latest educational platform with colleagues. I've led professional development sessions on both the grade level and local levels. I currently enjoy documenting and engaging in conversations about life and technology in the diabetes space.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. To further develop my skills, I completed a Google certificate in project management and IT support through Coursera. I am also a member of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) and an Alumni of IDOL (Instructional Design And Online Learning) Academy
